Essential Functions
60% Stock merchandise on the shelf or storage areas following the proper procedures and rotates dates and/or perishable merchandise in accordance with store procedures, pulling any out of date merchandise from the shelf
20% Assists in receiving and unloading of merchandise with store procedures, pulling any out of date merchandise from the shelf
15% Assist customers in locating and/or retrieving merchandise as well as with information regarding new product availability, discontinued merchandise, possible alternatives and other beneficial product and store service information
5% Assists with cleanup of spills, breakages and other maintenance duties as assigned or needed
Secondary Functions
· Participates in training activities to increase personal skill level, improve overall customer care and department performance
· Follows all J&J Foods’ safety guidelines and procedures while performing job functions
· Provides assistance in other departments of the store when needed
· Assists in periodic functions such as inventory, special promotions, etc.

Performance Factors
- Must achieve the standard acceptable level of production within the probationary work period and maintain that level going forward
- Stock shelves and handle back stock merchandise in accordance with J&J guidelines
· Exhibit a desire to sell groceries and to help customers
Qualifications:
- Education and Work Experience • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred • At least 6 months of experience in the grocery industry is preferred
- Language Skills • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently • Ability to speak clearly
- Mathematical Skills • Must be able to do simple math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) quickly and accurately
- Reasoning Ability • The ability to discern when a customer is in need of some sort of assistance • The ability to estimate within an accepted range the amount of any given product is needed for a particular time period
