H.F. Lenz Compny is  seeking an experienced Project Manager in MEP building system design. This position will work directly with a nationally recognized team of Principals in Charge and engineering professionals. This role will lead the building system engineering of mechanical and HVAC systems, including project management functions for a diverse project and client portfolio in the educational and commercial markets. This position may be based in our Johnstown, PA headquarters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Principals in Charge on project scheduling, cost estimates, project scopes and deadlines.
  • Responsible for project management and coordinating MEP engineering design production to meet desired service, quality and effectiveness between engineering staff, contractors and clients.
  • Review and approve project documents, modifications and changes for quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with and mentor engineering staff throughout design process.
  • Conduct job site observations, surveys and inspections as necessary.
  • Travel to project sites is required; some overnight travel may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC/Mechanical building system design or facilities engineering.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit software experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and personnel management is required.
  • MEP design experience in various commercial markets is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.

License(s) and/or Certification(s):

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain valid driver’s license.
