H.F. Lenz Engineering Company is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for our headquarters in Johnstown, PA. Working with a nationally recognized team of Project Engineers and engineering professionals, this role will lead structural engineering projects in various markets by performing design, analysis and project management. This position also includes site survey responsibilities for commercial building projects of various sizes and structures for a diverse project and client portfolio spanning across the country.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural design using Revit, STAAD-Pro and RAM Elements.
  • Perform calculations and utilize structural software for design and analysis tasks.
  • Conduct site surveys and write documentation reports of existing conditions.
  • Review submittals.
  • Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Independent design and documentation of various sized projects.
  • Interface with clients to ensure the design efforts are completed within project schedules and to client expectations.
  • Use technical knowledge and experience to apply engineering principles to unique situations.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and commitment to quality in execution of projects.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Architectural Engineering or related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Structural engineering and design.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit is required. RAM Elements; STAAD-Pro is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in and foster a team environment with minimal supervision.

License(s) and/or Certification(s):

  • FE/EIT Certification is required. PE license is highly preferred.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain valid driver’s license.
