Meat Department Head is responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to company standards. They must follow the Company sales and production planning standards and will ensure that the department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work plan. They ensure proper inventory control and rotation for freshness and availability, minimizing waste. They assist customers with special requests and answer questions. They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety and personal hygiene.
Duties:
Meat department employees receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise meat department products. Stock packaged and frozen food products from the meat department. Meat cutters work with power meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives. Powered and manual hand jacks and other duties as assigned.
