DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Accountable for the profitable operation of the Deli Department, including personnel, equipment and facilities.
B. Develop a viable departmental marketing plan, including the identity of the best-selling product mix and retail display.
C. Pro-actively manage the cost and profitability of the product mix, measured by combining a targeted "gross margin" and product-related shrinkage.
D. Complying with Company goals and objectives, determine competitive pricing strategies for all products.
E. Work with the Store Manager on sales projections and trends; forecast product, manpower and promotional requirements.
F. Order and receive deli products and supplies necessary to meet customer demand, ensuring that deliveries are on time and at the best quality and price.
G. Monitor the competition, as to price, quality, sales method(s), display management and any other relevant information. Recommend changes based on these findings.
H. Supervise, train and motivate department employees.
I. Ensure that all methods and procedures comply with governmental rules and regulations.
J. Constantly monitor the quality of products and service.
K. Resolve any customer complaints regarding quality and service.
L. Maintain a clean, attractive, fresh and appealing department that encourages point of purchase shopping.
M. Monitor customer satisfaction and recommend changes.
N. Responsible for the maintenance of the Deli ections' facilities, equipment, and spaces.
O. Cooperate with the other Department managers to promote attractiveness, cleanliness, and efficiency of the overall business.
P. Complete special duties or assignments as requested by the Store Manager.

A. Sales volume increases, with proportionally increased profitability.
B. Decrease department-related product shrinkage.
C. Adapts to new products or changing customer buying trends.
D. Cooperation with other department managers, promoting attractiveness, cleanliness, and efficiency.
E. Employee morale, development and turnover. Employee evaluations satisfactory or better.
F. Responsiveness to customer concerns.
G. Complete and satisfactory performance of special duties and assignments.
