Inventory Control Clerk
Ensure the accuracy of prices and inventory of all store items and those in the store's point-of-sale system.
Review price changes and promotions to ensure they are properly reflected in the system and on the store shelves.
Update prices in the system as necessary, and communicate any changes to the appropriate store associates.
Coordinate with vendors or suppliers to obtain pricing information and ensure that it is accurately reflected in all computer-operated systems.
Troubleshoot any pricing or scanning issues that arise, and work with other store associates to resolve them.
Ensure that all pricing and promotional materials in the store (e.g., shelf tags, signs, etc.) accurately reflect the prices in the point-of-sale system and those on the store shelves.
Train new staff members on pricing and scanning procedures, and answer any questions they may have.
Stay up-to-date on changes to pricing regulations and industry best practices, and adjust procedures as needed.
Ensure the master price file accurately reflects the most up-to-date price information on other computer-operated systems, including the POS systems.
Conduct regular audits to ensure pricing accuracy and identify any discrepancies or issues.
Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for all pricing information and related documentation.
Continuously evaluate and refine pricing and scanning procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy.
Monitor inventory levels of products and ensure accurate pricing and product information is reflected in the system.
Collaborate with other departments to maintain consistent pricing across the store.
Participate in weekly meetings with department heads and store management to review sales data, pricing trends, and promotional plans.
Ensure that any special pricing agreements or contracts with vendors are accurately reflected in the point-of-sale system.
Train staff on how to properly handle and process coupons and discounts.
Assume the duties of the Head Cashier in their absence.
Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud

Qualifications:
Possess previous experience as an Inventory Control Clerk, Scan Coordinator, Cashier, or a closely related role.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively manage customer interactions.
Exhibit exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively and simultaneously.
Communicate clearly and professionally with excellent interpersonal skills.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
Have the ability to hear, speak, and understand English in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance, answer telephones, and communicate effectively with other store associates and customers. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Read, write, and interpret English proficiently to understand and follow company handbooks, policies, procedures, and other job-related documents posted on company notification boards.
Demonstrate the ability to follow up on tasks and ensure they are completed thoroughly and accurately.
Be available for off-hour calls and report to work as needed outside of regularly scheduled working hours.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and have a strong familiarity with database systems, inventory control software, and computer systems to effectively complete job duties.
Ability to operate computers, copiers, fax machines, among other pieces of office equipment.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
Software Proficiency: ability to operate database files and inventory control systems among other computer operated programs.
Detail-Oriented: attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and file maintenance concerning finances, schedules, records, complaints, procedures, etc.
Multi-Task: flexibility to perform various administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Communication: ability to effectively communicate with customers, associates, and upper management.
Problem-Solving: ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Adaptability: ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, while managing time effectively.
Work Environment: ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other departments and upper management.
Ability to memorize and understand company policies, inventory control procedures, PLU codes, shipping and receiving procedures, check stand and keyboard operations, and product locations.
Ability to carry out higher than basic level mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), including margins and mark-ups.
Ability to work flexible hours that include day and evening shifts in a 365 day, 24/7 setting, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Ability to learn to and operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, garbage and card board compactors, electric fork lifts, (only if of appropriate age) and a box knife or cutter.
Ability to ocassionally lift, move, stack, and manipulate items of varying dimensions and weights up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, from floor level to overhead.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and with mental sharpness as well as physical tasks that involve standing, walking, moving quickly or sitting for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning frequently.
