Receiving Clerk
Receive the store merchandise from the vendor and verify that the inventory quantities, prices, and expenses match with invoices and orders.
Ensure the security of the company's assets (equipment, inventory, etc.), of the backdoor and backroom. You will manage and enforce loss prevention procedures in accordance with store policy.
Adhere to the department's established procedures for receiving merchandise, including inspecting the delivered products for quality, quantity, and pricing, and restocking cases to maintain product freshness, accuracy, and rotation.
Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, note and fix any discrepancies in inventory, ensure the inventory is free of any damaged/spoiled/or unattractive items, and maintain accurate pricing and signage.
Operate the company's digital receiving platform and computer properly for merchandise reception.
Acquire products directly from suppliers, register the received items, and affix the receiving date and signature.
Confirm that the stockroom adheres to the company's safety standards and is systematically arranged.
Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, ensuring that all products are stored in their designated areas and that walkways are clear and safe for store associates and customers.
Order products, cut cases, stack, price, and mark merchandise, build product displays and operate related equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
Conduct visual inspection of the merchandise being placed on shelves, cut boxes precisely, and place assortments of items and containers on store shelves.
Push and pull hand trucks and pallet jacks, containing products of substantial weight, to move heavy items and large quantities of merchandise.
Ensure that products are facing forward and are neatly arranged according to company standards.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on new products, promotions, and policies.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is running low, and assist with the ordering and receiving of additional merchandise as needed.
Rotate products to ensure that the oldest items are sold first, minimize waste and shrink, and ensure the products' quality aligns with company standards.
Assist customers with locating products, answer questions, and provide information about store policies and procedures.
Ensure the safe and efficient replenishment of stock to meet customer purchasing needs while ensuring the quality and visual appeal of all products align with company standards.
Provide friendly and courteous customer service, welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers while assisting them with their questions.
Adhere to safety protocols, such as wearing appropriate clothing and protective equipment, and follow safe lifting practices.
Handle unsellable items in accordance with company policies.
Keep the area outside and inside of the receiving door as well as the backroom clean and organized.
Manage inventory returns with suppliers and merchandisers.
Manage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) inventory processes.
Ensure that vendors maintain neat displays and properly restock the shelves.
Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Qualifications:
Possess working knowledge of store operations, and understand the relationship and processes between the store and its suppliers.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively manage customer interactions.
Exhibit exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively and simultaneously.
Communicate clearly and professionally with excellent interpersonal skills.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
Have the ability to hear, speak, and understand English in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance, answer telephones, and communicate effectively with other store associates and customers. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Read, write, and interpret English proficiently to understand and follow company handbooks, policies, procedures, and other job-related documents posted on company notification boards.
Demonstrate the ability to follow up on tasks and ensure they are completed thoroughly and accurately.
Be available for off-hour calls and report to work as needed outside of regularly scheduled working hours.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software to effectively complete job duties.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work flexible hours that include morning, day, and occasionally evening shifts in a 365 day, 24/7 setting, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Attention to Detail: ability to accurately verify and document the receipt of merchandise and ensure that the quantities, prices, and costs received match invoices and orders.
Organization: ability to keep the food stockroom tidy, clean, and in compliance with company safety standards. Ensure that items are systematically arranged for easy access and retrieval.
Communication Skills: ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and other associates both verbally and in writing.
Computer Proficiency: ability to learn to configure and operate the computer system to receive merchandise, log inventory, and perform other receiving-related tasks.
Team player: ability to work effectively with others as part of a team, as well as contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Safety and Security: ability to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and associates.
Ability to work in cooler environments (freezers occasionally) and outdoors in varying conditions.
Ability to regularly lift, move, stack, and manipulate items of varying dimensions and weights up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, from floor level to overhead.
Ability to learn to and operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, garbage and card board compactors, electric fork lifts, (only if of appropriate age) and a box knife or cutter.
Ability to memorize and understand company policies, inventory control procedures, PLU codes, shipping and receiving procedures, check stand and keyboard operations, and product locations.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and with mental sharpness as well as physical tasks that involve standing, walking, moving quickly or sitting for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning frequently.
