· Ensures all areas of cost control are monitored daily; with weekly and month- end inventories.
· Supervises, trains and develops all associates and be directly responsible for the supervision and training of his/her associates.
· Orders supplies and product to ensure an efficient bakery/deli operation. All supplies kept in an orderly fashion to ensure adequate supply and proper inventory level.
· Ensures that all local, state and federal laws on sanitation and safety are complied with, and strict standards are set for associates on daily cleanliness, for person, preparation room, display cases, and equipment.
· Completes weekly employee schedules, maintaining budgeted labor cost.
· Ensures that all staff performance is monitored, in a consistent and timely manner, utilizing the established performance assessment programs.
· Ensures that new hires are oriented and trained in accordance with established Chappell's policy.
· Maintains cases and display areas daily to provide an attractive setting that will appeal to CUSTOMERS.
· Maintains variety and freshness of all products.
· Cuts meat as specified by the customer.
· Ensures that proper documentation is administered for disciplinary action(s).
· Ensures that all employees are in proper uniform.
· Maintains daily office cleanliness and organization.
· Any other responsibilities assigned by Supervisor or Store Manager.
· Assists on Front End to help bag and carry out groceries to customers’ vehicles.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility:
All associates, 3+, which work in the Deli/ Bakery Department. Close supervision of duties of 3 or more associates mentoring, evaluation of performance, providing feedback, and termination.
Work Environment: Must be clean and neat in appearance, clothes and shoes clean, hands, nails and hair well kept. Job requires standing for most of the entire work period, must also be able to lift up to 30 pounds, stoop and walk.
Must be able to with stand both hot and cold temperatures, possibly working around the ovens and cooking area as well as in the freezers and walk in coolers.

Requirements:
- Minimum Qualifications: • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Experience: Two year in retail or grocery business at a Deli/ Bakery position.
