·         Ensures the customer service office is operated properly responding to customer questions and complaints effectively. Other customer service office responsibilities are: money order printing, Western Union transactions, and handling United Parcel Service mailings (UPS).

·         Ensures each customer receives outstanding Customer Service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Customer Service.

·         Ensures appropriate merchandise stock levels, adjacently and presentations, signage, and assortment in all departments; ensure sales floor is adequately stocked.

·         Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through and audits, etc.

·         Continually evaluates and reacts to performance issues with corrective action and actively recruit candidates for various departments.

·         Performs interviews of qualified applicants.

·         Conducts timely performance appraisals of associates.

·         Handles termination of employees in accordance with Chappell's policy and all applicable laws.

·         Direct and monitor training and development of associates in all aspects of the business for all store personnel.

·         Supervises associates and daily duties as they apply to Management Awareness and beyond.

·         Assists with stocking and the facing of the store.

·         Assists in making grocery order.

·         Any other responsibilities assigned by Store Manager.

·         Assists on the Front End to help bag and carry out groceries to customers’ vehicles

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility:

·         All employees except the Store Manager

·         Performs interviews of qualified applicants.

·         Conducts timely performance appraisals of associates.

·         Assists in the counseling and corrective action process.

Work Environment:

Retail store environment with occasional travel required at regular intervals; Ability to lift at least 50lbs.; Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong emphasis on excellent customer service and fair a lawful treatment of associates.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required At Entry: • Ability to be patient and friendly; display positive communication skills with customers and associates. • Ability to create a weekly work schedule for 10-50 associates. • Ability to handle stress in a professional manner. • Ability to make reasonable business decisions. • Necessary office, computer, and basic math skills. • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English in order to accurately complete daily written and verbal communications. • Ability to work flexible hours as needed/scheduled (including weekends and holidays). Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required For Full-Performance: • Requires the ability to independently perform all duties of the position efficiently and effectively. • Knowledge of store layout. • Knowledge of current register program. • Knowledge of company paperwork procedures (new hire, terminations, counseling, etc.). • Knowledge of company payroll system. • Knowledge of all duties in the departments as addressed under Management Awareness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications: • Education: High School Diploma/ GED equivalent, some college preferred. • Experience: Two years experience in grocery or retail business with managerial duties.
