Essential Functions
55% Bag customer’s purchases in accordance with store procedures, offering carryout service to each customer
10% Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas and return to their proper place
10% Perform other duties as assigned by the department head or other management personnel
5% Assist customers with any special or extra help that they may need (examples: placing groceries on the check stand, lifting heavier items, retrieving a forgotten item desired by the customer, etc.)
5% Perform price checks as requested according to store procedures
5% Assist with grocery items that need to be returned to their proper place (“go-backs”) according to store procedures, giving priority to refrigerated, and frozen (perishable) items.
5% Maintain an organized and clean work station. This includes making sure that the plastic bags and other necessary items are full and readily available.
5% Participates in training activities to increase personal skill level, and improve overall performance and customer care.
Secondary Functions
· Work with the cashier to ensure that each order is checked out quickly, efficiently and accurately
· Assist the customer with the location of store merchandise
· Assist with clean up of spills, breakages and other maintenance duties as assigned
· Stocking store shelves and displays when assigned
· Blocking and conditioning shelves and displays when assigned
· Provide light supervision and training of other associates when assigned
· Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while performing job functions
· Handle groceries in all facets of the job with great care

Work Environment and Time Standard
· Standing for long periods of time (up to 8 hours or more)
· Working outside in the elements up to about 40% of time.
· A varying schedule with some nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Qualifications:

- Reasoning Ability • The ability to discern when a customer is in need of some sort of assistance and when they want to be left to themselves.
