H.F. Lenz Company is seeking qualified candidates responsible for performing building system design and layout at our growing office in Pittsburgh, PA. The successful candidate will possess electrical building systems design experience with at least an associate (2 year) technical degree in Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Architectural Design or related program. Must be knowledgeable of AutoCAD and Revit software applications.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and drafting computer-aided design (CAD) drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software applications.

  • Responsible for meeting all project specifications and formatting to company standards and following all project schedules and due dates.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the clients, BIM manager, Engineers, and Project Engineers to ensure that the design is accurate and that contract responsibilities are met.

  • Layout and modify drawings and recommend changes based on their experience and knowledge of the project.

  • Review and interpret client specifications, as well as help improve and maintain current quality assurance processes.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the CAD drawing library as necessary.

  • Conduct job site/field observations or inspections as necessary.

  • Travel to local project sites may be required; some overnight travel may be expected.

  • Minimum 2-year Technical Degree, A.A. Degree or B.S. Degree in Computer Assisted Design; Mechanical Engineering; Architectural and/or Building System Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with MEP and Electrical System Design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit applications is required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain valid driver’s license.
