Major duties:
 Sees that all products are properly wrapped and packaged.
 Is responsible for correct weights (tare) and pricing.
 Is responsible for keeping the meat cases full, fresh, and signed.
 Rotates product; watches code dates.
 Is responsible for correct pricing, shelf tags, and price changes.
 Keeps meat department fixtures, equipment, and area clean, sanitized, and free from accident hazards at all times.
 Is knowledgeable in the usage of wrapping equipment, scale, and labeler and the wrapping station functions.
 Performs freshness checks.
 Handles all store property and equipment in such a manner as to secure maximum use.
 Maintains courteous and friendly customer relations.
Minor duties:
 Handles special customer requests and complaints in the absence of the meat manager or journeyman cutter.
 Orders product when requested.
 Operate slicers, scales, tenderizers, knives, safety cutters, and price marking devices.
 Operate hydraulic baler.
 Maintain sanitation standards.
 Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
 Follows all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
 Performs other duties as assigned


Relationships: Reports to Meat Manager. 


Qualifications: 
 Be a self-starter.
 Read and write.
 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
 Follow verbal and written instructions.
 Provide verbal and physical assistance to the customers.
 Lift and stack up to 50 pounds.
 Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 500 pounds.
 Possess good interpersonal skills, is mature, and is a proven leader.
 Reach and stock products up to 6 ft. high.
