Lenz Company has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Technician / Designer to support the building system design for our growing team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will perform electrical systems layout and design for a diverse portfolio of projects focused in various market sectors, including healthcare, educational and commercial facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical design and layout using Autodesk Revit and BIM360 modeling applications.
  • Assist engineers to determine project design criteria, applicable building and energy codes, and full building electrical systems design.
  • Provide input on and assistance with equipment selections, calculations, and layouts for building systems generally consisting of building services, grounding systems, emergency systems, lighting, building power, and low voltage design and layout including fire alarm and other specialty low voltage building systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to deliver designs that align with client expectations.
  • Develop positive, trusting working relationships with internal and external clients.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in MEP or Electrical building systems and design.
  • 2+ years of experience in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
  • Travel to local project sites is required; some overnight travel may be expected.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and provide outstanding service to clients.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in CADD or Architectural Drafting and Design is required.
  • Proficient in Revit and/or BIM360 modeling applications is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must have ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Must have ability to work occassional overtime.
