Lenz Company is seeking a registered, professional Electrical Project Engineer experienced in electrical system design for our Pittsburgh, PA office.  The successful candidate will lead the electrical engineering design, business development and project management functions for a diverse client portfolio focused on healthcare, higher education and commercial projects.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Principal in Charge on business development activities and prepare proposals, project cost estimates, personnel assignments, project scopes and deadlines.

  • Coordinate with various departments on specific project requirements, specifically in design of electrical systems, including but not limited to low to medium voltage power distribution, lighting and UPS systems.

  • Review and approve project documents, modifications and changes for quality and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with engineering staff and clients throughout design process.

  • Conduct job site observations as necessary.

  • Travel to local project sites is required; some overnight travel may be expected.

  • Mentor junior level engineering staff and develop them towards obtaining professional registration.


  • Experience with engineering design for healthcare, educational and commercial facilities


  • B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required
  • Registered P.E. is highly preferred; EIT/FE Certification required
  • 10+ years of experience in building engineering industry
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
