• Sees that all merchandise going out the front door is checked through the registers and paid for.
  • Enforces and follows store policies on checkout and cash controls designed to protect the store property.
  • Checks and balances all registers daily.
  • Picks up cash at proper intervals from registers to insure “safe” levels in the registers and maintains sufficient change for cashiers.
  • Assures the accuracy in accounting of store receipts and disbursements (bank deposits).
  • Sees that employees are relieved on time for meals, breaks, and at the end of their shifts.
  • Sees that the checkout areas are neat, clean, and that the check stands are well serviced at all times.
  • Opens new checkout lanes as needed.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all functions of a cash register.
  • Assists in carrying out a customer experience program to insure a favorable store and company image and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for seeing that all new checkers are properly trained.
  • Maintains courteous and friendly customer relations.
  • Completes weekly reports.

Qualifications:

  • • Be a self-starter. • Read and write. • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide. • Follow verbal and written instructions. • Give verbal and written instructions. • Provide verbal and physical assistance to the customers. • Lift and stack up to 25 pounds. • Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 500 pounds. • Possess good inter-personal skills, is mature, and a proven leader. • Reach and stock product up to 6 ft. high. • Must possess basic computer skills
