Cashier
Conduct sales transactions professionally, accurately, and quickly, which includes scanning items, processing payments, calculating costs, and returning change as necessary.
Ensure the cash drawer has adequate change denominations and request more when needed.
Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and providing information about store policies and procedures.
Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at the end of each shift.
Provide friendly and courteous customer service, welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers while assisting them with their questions.
Ensure a visually attractive appearance and presentation of the check-out area, including the shelves containing impulse purchases.
Report any issues with the equipment to management.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on new products, promotions, and policies.
Address customer complaints and concerns, and direct customers to the Head Cashier if necessary.
Manage returns and exchanges in a timely manner consistent with company policy.
Maintain a clean working environment by wiping down registers, restocking bags, and performing other tasks to keep the area clean and organized.
Assist with stocking and rotating merchandise as needed.
Scan and bag items with accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
Keep up to date on merchandise promotions, advertisements, and new product information to assist customers.
Handle unsellable items in accordance with company policies.
Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.

Have the ability to hear, speak, and understand English in order to respond promptly to pages for assistance, answer telephones, and communicate effectively with other store associates and customers. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
Read, write, and interpret English proficiently to understand and follow company handbooks, policies, procedures, and other job-related documents posted on company notification boards.
Demonstrate the ability to follow up on tasks and ensure they are completed thoroughly and accurately.
Be available for off-hour calls and report to work as needed outside of regularly scheduled working hours.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to work flexible hours that include morning, day, and evening shifts in a 365 day, 24/7 setting, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Attention to Detail: ability to accurately handle cash, debit, credit, and check transactions, process returns, and record purchases while maintaining efficient speed.
Speed: ability to quickly and accurately scan items for sale and bag items carefully.
System Proficiency: proficiency in operating a cash register or other point-of-sale systems.
Organization: ability to keep the check-out and front of the store tidy, clean, and in compliance with company safety standards.
Team Player: ability to work effectively with others as part of a team, as well as contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Customer Service: ability to create and maintain a positive customer experience and resolve customer issues.
Problem-Solving: ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to ocassionally lift, move, stack, and manipulate items of varying dimensions and weights up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, from floor level to overhead
Ability to memorize and understand company policies, inventory control procedures, PLU codes, shipping and receiving procedures, check stand and keyboard operations, and product locations.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and with mental sharpness as well as physical tasks that involve standing, walking, moving quickly or sitting for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning frequently.
Ability to carry out higher than basic level mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
